On September 30, 2023, Francesco Ongaro obtained the certification "Ethical Hacking: Scanning Networks".
After footprinting and reconnaissance, scanning represents the second phase of information gathering that hackers use to assess a network.
Network scans are also a key tool for ethical hackers, who work to prevent attacks on an organization's infrastructure and data.
The course examines the scanning tools and techniques used to gather information from a system, including ping sweeps, UDP scans, and TCP flag scans. Scanning techniques and their objectives are discussed, followed by vulnerability scanning and how to predict possible attack scenarios. Scanning tools are presented to scan ports, operating system fingerprinting, time synchronization, and much more, also showing some ways hackers evade detection of these events.
