What are the rules?
The Strategy for the digital growth of the country and the Three-Year Plan for IT in the Public Administration in Italy dictate the criteria for the IT evolution of Public Administrations; for this reason, AgID has developed a strategy to qualify public and private entities to offer cloud services for public administration.
These are criteria that service providers must adopt to guarantee public administrations minimum quality and security requirements. In particular, the guarantees that an entity must offer to obtain the AgID cloud certification are:
Guaranteed minimum service levels
Security, accessibility, usability
No vendor lock-in
Scalability, resilience, data protection, and compatibility through the use of standards
To provide the services, it is necessary to ensure compliance with these guidelines by completing the PA cloud model. Once this is done, the entity in question will undergo the necessary checks and, if successful, be added to the PA cloud marketplace.
What does it consist of?
The goal of the certification is to allow PAs to adopt cloud infrastructures. This would have numerous advantages such as:
Greater efficiency of ICT systems
Reduced costs
Protected data
Simpler and faster public services
But this is only possible if cloud service providers for PAs offer guarantees on the quality of the product. This is achieved through compliance with the guidelines provided in AgID circulars no. 2 and no. 3 of April 9, 2018.

Depending on the service an entity wants to offer, it will be necessary to obtain the corresponding certification.
